The news that King Charles has cancer is sad for all those who regard the non-political, symbolic British Monarchy as relevant in today’s world. His brightness in telling us about it is an affirmation both that he understands how doing so can encourage others to be open with their ailments and of his own courage in carrying on as nearly normally as possible.

This gentle man, just picking up his duties at age seventy-five, is the third British Monarch I have met and talked with. Meeting all three has led me to believe that the world could do with rather more kindly leaders of this sort than it has at present.

King Charles has the warm affection of all of us at Terrific Mentors International.

We wish him a full and speedy recovery and many more years as King.
