We don’t often hear the expression “weep for joy “ but I am using it now. And doing it. Literally. The Church of England has made a lady head of this Christian religion. Archbishop Sarah Mullally is to become the Archbishop of Canterbury. If I were to join a religion this appointment would greatly influence my choice.
Those who have the gift of a faith are very blessed. Our work as mentors and coaches teaches us that their faith gives them an advantage when dealing with life’s slings and arrows.
Archbishop Mullally’s appointment will give the C of E an important strategic uplift.
We don’t live in a perfect world. But we do live in a wonderful world that is teetering on the brink of many catastrophic changes. To help create the stability we now desperately need, the strategic hand of a thoroughly practical woman in this influential job is a step to be welcomed whatever our faith or lack of it.
Let’s hope all religions follow suit.
May her God bless Sarah Mullally and help her navigate the rough road ahead.
